wireless keyboard problem

My MS wireless keyboard (Comfort 1.0A) does not respond, even at the initial
screen which means that I couldn't check the bios settings or go into safe
mode. The batteries are new, the keyboard properties indicates the batteries
are 100% and the signal is at full strength and the alternate keyboard is
wired but won't respond when I use the PS2 plug. I am using the USB plug to
write this.

Connect/reset button ?

I should have noted that I did try a reconnect and changed the batteries twice.

I was wondering if the PS2 receptor might be at fault. I seem to be getting
info to the keyboard. Mskey.exe indicates everything is working well. The
keyboard control panel indicates the battery is 100% and the wireless
strength is at max.
