I am trying to install wireless-g pci adapter to my home
computer. Hardware and software installed fine; can't get
a remote connection, however. Linksys support told me
that "absolutely" I must remove Windows XP hotfix
KB824146 to make that connection. Does that sound right?
If so, can anyone advise on the procedure by which I can
remove that hotfix? Thanks.

Just my opinion here, but I spent ages tryting to get my linksys wireless equipment to work and the linksys folks gave me mega things to do. Never worked. Gave up and replaced all the linksys stuff with another company's. Was up and running with 4 computers, including 2 W98 machines, in under 45 minutes. I'm using a laptiop on wireless to type this. IMHO you should not have to remove an MS security patch to work wirelessly. You need the patch. Try the wireless group just in case to see if they have a better answer than this, however.
