wireless disconnects every 15 minutes in XP Pro

i am using XP & have been using the same wireless internet connection at
home in france for 12 months. there was a problem recently with activ synch
(whatis active sync????!!!) has this got something to do with the fact that my
wifi disconnects now from the internet every 15 minutes & has to be
reconnected manually (yes it is set to automatic)?
preferred wireless connections - mine is at the top. when i connect to the
other one it does the same thing
i have the same problem whether windows firewall is on or not
is there a new setting with windows ?
has activ sync got something to do with it?
when i look at add/ romove programs at the Intel program it says that this
is used 'rarely' however i use my wireless every day & have done for a year.
is there another wireless with windows? windows is managing my wireless by
the way.
i am not very technical & desperately need my wireless since i travel ALOT
please someone help

Did you checked the Poer Options/Mangement and uncheck the check box for the
computer to turn theis device for power saving...Do that from the Device
manager and right click your Wireless Adapter and select properties.

Also try this:
ipconfig /flushdns click [OK]
ipconfig /renew click [OK]
netsh winsock reset click [OK]

Reboot your Laptop and see if the connection will hold.

*-Click Start >> Control panel >> Internet Network Connections .
*-Right click the wireless network connection and select Properties.
*- on the Wireless Properties Click Wireless Networks.
*-If there is/are another network appears in the list of preferred networks,
click
it, then click Remove and leave the one you connect through.
*- Click Advanced.
*-Select "Access point (infrastructure) networks only".
8. Un-check "Automatically connect to non-preferred networks".

Make sure the Wireless management tools/utility not Started to manage your
wireless connection and conflicting with WZC.
HTH,
