I have a wired lan using static ip's and I need to fix it so I can
connect to it with a wireless laptop. Can anyone help me with this? I
have a netgear wireless router that tries to use dhcp and I think I can
disable that but, I still can't seem to get connected. the server is
win2003 server using active directory and everything else is xp pro sp2

Brad,
Sounds like a recipe for a can of worms if you're going to change any IP
setting on the server. If you're simply connecting to the router then just
isolate the issues between the wireless connection and the router. Logging
in to the domain is not important at this point if the router provides the
internet access for the group. Try plugging in to the router directly with a
cat 5 cable to see if it's your wireless system or the router. If the laptop
is using a static IP then you have another issue. usually on the server will
have a static IP and the clients use the DHCP.
