no internet connection at router error message

My wireless laptop (through Windows XP) won't connect to the internet. I am
using a Netgear wireless adapter and in the status page, it says that
wireless connection to (netgear) router OK but no internet connection at
router....how do I fix this?

My desktop internet connection is fine.

You probably need to set the wireless security encryption of the laptop to
match that of the router. Use the desktop to log on to the router to find
what encryption it is set at, then change the laptop settings to match. Read
the instructions that came with the router to find how to log on. Read the

encryption.
