wireless connection

Hello,

I am using XP Pro SP2 with all updates. I have a wireless connection
managed by other software and I have it disabled unless I am where I can
connect to a network. However, there is always a Windows Network icon in
the taskbar showing disabled status even though, under the networks
properties, I do not have the box checked for notification when the network
has limited or no connectivity. How do I get this icon out of my taskbar
without using Windows to disable the network?

Try this: Click Start >> Control Panel >> Double click Network and Internet
connections >> Double click Network Connections.
There on the Wireless Icon right click and select Properties, on the
Properties under general tab there two Check boxes at the Bottom of the
window:
[ ] Show Icon in Notification area when connected
[ ] Show Icon on Notification area when there is limited or no
Connectivity .
Uncheck those two boxes and click [OK].
Does this help.
HTH.

Not even worth the trouble removing it. Just live with it.

I am using XP Pro SP2 with all updates. I have the Powertoy "Calculator
Plus" installed. It worked fine. I installed a Microsoft Natural Ergonomic
Keyboard 4000 and now the calculator will work and then just stop working.
In other words, I will start performing calculations and then it will quit
responding to keystrokes or mouse clicks. I don't know that this is related
to the keyboard but Any ideas?

The standard calculator with Windows still works fine.
