Wireless connection Windows XP

Barry

I have a D-Link wireless router that is working great
with two home desktops. I have just purchased a new
Presarion Laptop with wireless capabilities and am trying
to get it connected to the internet.

The computer reads the wireless signal with no problem
indicating 11.mbps and showing excellent signal strength,
but I cannot connect with my ISP Charter cable. The
TCP/IP setting does not seem to match. If I plug the
computer directly into the modem it works perfectly, but
not on the wireless link.

Help!

Was a network bridge created between the wireless and wired ?
Start, run, ncpa.cpl [ok] and disable the network bridge. Then disable
the wired adapter (right click, disable). Also if ICF is running, turn
it off.

Clone the MAC address of the computer that was previously connected
directly to the broadband modem into the new router.
