Prior to loading XP Prof., I was able to establish a
wireless connection between my desktop and laptop. After
XP-Pro was installed the wireless connection was loss.
The connection is reported as unavailable. Also, the drop
down box is not highlighted so I can't enter the type of
wireless connection. Finally, the "Wireless" Tab now
reads "Authentication"

My LT is a Inspiron 5100 with a intergrated wireless
card. I have had it for one week. The original Op Sys
was XP-Home.

What suggestion do you have?

Try reinstalling the drivers for the wireless card. Are you setting up
an infrastructure or ad hoc wireless network?
