wireless and windows xp server 2003

Bobby

I have just formatted the haddisk on a computer and installed Windows XP
Server on it. Everything went fine except for one thing. When I look in
device manager I see that a driver for my wireless Netgear MA311 was not
installed. I downloaded a driver and tried to install it but XP Server
doesn't to recognise it. Still a black exclamation mark on a round yellow
background in device manager.

Before I had Windows 2000 Pro installed on the box and no problems.

Any ideas?

Hi bobby,

Try uninstalling the existing driver by right click the device in the device
manager and restart the machine, XP will prompt you saying new hardware found
now point the driver you downloaded or if it is a installation by itself
cancel the hardware wizard and intall it.

Hi, I have just had to reinstalled W XP Pro because of problems on my PC.
When I completed the reload with a new XP Pro Cd and license I receive a
message that my XP does not recognise the Ethernet controller, SM BUS
controller, Video Controller or Video controller VGA(previously working) . I
have tried to uninstall, restart the PC using the device manager for the
ethernet controller but still I have the same problem. Obvousily I cannot
connect to the Inet for more info or downloads and am using another PC to
contact you.

Can you help please
