Wireless Adapter lost afer WinXP Update

After the latest WinXP Update (the one from September 12th, 2006) my
wireless adapter has gone. The wireless adapter doesn't show up in the
network connection overview. It's also not available when displaying an
"ipconfig /all" in the console.

I tried to install the Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 2915ABG Network Connection
driver again but that didn't help.

After several reboots I still have the same problem. No wireless at all.

The decive manager displays the wireless adapter and doesn't look like
it is broken (no yellow question mark icon). By using the device
manager I installed the latest driver for the adapter, but that didn't
work.
