WinXP won't install

This is continuation from a post yesterday. Trying to
install XP on a new computer. I get "Setup is inspecting
your computer's hardware configuration" then the screen
goes black and nothing happens. Carey said to disable
onboard sound. Still didn't work so I removed the
Soundblaster card and the modem card. Same problem. Any
more ideas?
