WinXP PRO Reboots

Hello
My sister's computer won't reboot properly. It gets stuck in this infinite loop of rebooting. F8 does not change anything the system reboots either way. I tried to get her to use the WinXP startup disks to repair windows but when it gets to the point where it examines the computer configuration it just reboots again. So I had her take the HD out and take it home where she stuck it into our parents comp. From there she formated the c: partition on that HD (which now showed up as F:) and reinstalled windows and actually booted from that partition. After that she put it back in her computer and it's still doing the same thing (FYI: There are two partitions on that one HD). I'm running out of ideas anyone have any suggustions.

Looks like a hardware fault, and more precisely, probably
a memory fault. If the machine has two or more memory
sticks (DIMMS or whatever), remove all but one and see
what happens. If it still reboots, swap that one for
another, and so forth. If only one memory stick, buy
another one and swap them and see. If not the memory, it
is more likely the power supply. If you are in an area
with bad power, make sure you have a UPS (surge protector
power boards usually don't help much, particularly
against brownouts which can still fry parts in your PC
even though its protected against spikes).
