WinXP Pro locks up with nVidia driver

I've connected my WinXP Pro system to a TV at various times, via cloning. Dell (I use an Inspiron 8200) assisted me in installing a new nVidia driver to do this. Now, however, the system locks up after about 2.5-3.5 hours of operation, typically at work (arg!). I'm guessing there's a memory leak, but not sure. I MUST reboot, many times with a hard-turn off and coldboot
Any ideas of how to solve this or do I have to install/reinstall the drivers whenever I need to clone to the external TV device
TIA

If you system is working properly for a few hours and then fails, the
issue is hardware-related and not software (drivers)-related.
Overheating can cause failures, and this is definitely a problem with
laptops. Unfortunately, you can't open up the laptop and observer the
fans running, but you can check to be sure the fans *are* running and
feel the laptop. Does it seem extremely hot? If the machine is under
warranty, call Dell Tech Support again after you've made the
observations.
