Winxp Fails to boot

My problem is identical to Jennifer Kerr 5/12/07 Page 46, 12th question. Only
difference is when I try any options from safe mode menu it takes me to the
next screen which is Hardware profile/configuration recovery menu says if
system is not starting correctly to switch to previous system configuration,
may overcome start up problems system config changes made since last
successful start up will be discarded. pick profile 1 or profile 2, or at the
bottom switch to default config. type D tried that to and it goes to black
screen with a white bar along the bottom. also any safe modes I act like
their starting to run about 6 of these drive paths start to load
multi(0)disk(0)rddisk(0)partiton (1)\WINDOWS\system32\... and then quickly
jumps back to the profile screen again and makes me pick the profile again
and then the screen fills with the paths and freezes and stays that way till
I manually shut it down.

It looks like a ahardware problem or a driver corrupted! Alos it can be the
cause of overheated system?

Did you tried the Last good known Configuration from the boot up selection?
I will try to recover the data first if you have any data you want to rescue
then start troubleshooting.
Or if it all too much for you, you can take it to your local repair shop.
Any Hardware/Software installed recently?

When the computer starts up I dont even have to push F8 it just automatically
is there. As far as overheated I have 2 fans running . as far as harware
problem do you mean my hard drive? If so what do I do from there. As far as
driver coruppted what do I do about that. Yes I reinstalled Nero OEM suite
that came with my cd/dvd burner. My computer started acting up right away
like telling me I needed to change my hardware profile and so forth because I
could'nt get BITS to turn on in services. So finally after searching
knowledge base for two days I found out that had coruppted someone elses pc.
So I instantly removed it and the system went back to normal other than this
whole profile thing. Please any suggestions on how to troubleshoot from here
would be helpful, I can't afford to get it repaired professionally. Thank you
for your help!

Hi Tammy,
Can you press the F8 and then select Safe Mode from the boot up options!
In the safe Mode you can restore to an earlier date when things were working
okay.
Hardware mean by some devices installed recently and also your HDD.

Driver corruption look for compability and latest driver for whichever
hardware/software you will install.
