WinXP blocking wanted pop-ups

I have already turned off my added pop-up blocker, as well as having already
turned off the blocker in WinXP SP2. I did that one by going to "tools",
pop-up blocker and turning off the blocker. I am still unable to access
needed sites.

My daughter is still able to access the site from her computer, using
Win2000. I can access the site from work, also using Win2000. But for some
unknown reason I can not access the site from my computer at home, with
WinXP. Or from my wife's laptop, also with WinXP.

The real frustrating part is that I used to be able to access the sight from
mine, WITH WinXP.

What setting do I have wrong? I have even lowered my security settings to
no avail.

Is it a site you can't get to, or a pop-up of some sort that you need to
see? If it's a pop-up, the software usually gives you a way to see
particular ones, by holding down the control key, for example, or clicking
on the toolbar to allow a particular pop-up. How you view it depends on what
pop-up blocker you have installed, but they all have a way to allow pop-ups
that you want.

If it's an actual website that you're trying to get to, fiddling with the
pop-up controls isn't going to affect that. Is it a secure site, perhaps?
Did you set parental controls? Do you get some sort of error message? Do you
get redirected to a different site? Does the computer reboot? What happens,
exactly, when you try to access the site, besides that you can't see it?

Have you scanned for spyware? I've seen more than a few that will block
access to some or all websites.
