Check the Internet Explorer General newsgroup. I think you'll
find that you're not the only one dealing with that problem.

You might also want to take a look here,

Keep in mind that you can always uninstall IE7 through Control
Panel -> Add or Remove Programs.

Good luck

Thanks Nepatsfan,

I went to the following website as suggested by PCBUTTS1 in the
alt.os.windows-xp newsgroup and did the following:

http://www.hanselman.com/blog/ThePr...dInTheDynamicLinkLibraryPSAPIDLLAfterIE7.aspx

After searching for all PSAPI.DLL I found I had several all in different
directories. I renamed all those that were associated with Verizon to
PSAPI.OLD, (which also happened to have the oldest date stamps). Rebooted
without the problem. However, there are still several PSAPI.DLL files on my
computer. Can you/anyone here tell me which might be the single one to keep?
(I'm assumming it would be the lastest).

PCBUTTS1!!! There's a name from the past. He used to be the
resident troll in the Microsoft newsgroups. One day someone
discovered that an antispyware program that he claimed to have
written was actually the work of someone else. Sorry to hear
that he's still active in any newsgroup.

Do yourself a favor, don't ever download anything that thief
has posted on his web site. You're lucky this time that all he
did was refer you to a legitimate solution to your problem.

Since the error message no longer appears, it would seem that
you've renamed the problem files.

Now back to your question, you should find a copy of PSAPI.DLL
in your C:\WINDOWS\System32 folder. Leave that file alone. The
same goes for the copy in the C:\WINDOWS\System32\dllcache
folder. Both of these files will be version 5.1.2600.2180 with
a modified date of 8/4/2004.

If Service Pack 2 had to be installed on your computer you will
also find copies in these two folders.

C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\I386
C:\WINDOWS\$NtServicePackUninstall$

Those can be left as is.

Good luck
