WinTV HVR-950

Anyone know if the USB WinTV HVR-950 will ever work in Vista 64-bit?

It'sa Hybrid TV-Tuner which actually for me is picking up HDTV Signals over
the air-waves on my Windows XP machine. I'd love to make this work with
Media Center in Vista.

I can't give you a definitive answer to your question. Like you, I am
annoyed at Hauppauge's lack of interest in 64 bit drivers. I have an HVR
1300. They have had over a year to produce drivers for XP 64 and still very
limited support. We are mostly hoping for something by the time Vista 64
ships. Your best bet in the meantime is to keep an eye on the Hauppauge
forums:

Hi, John.

Thanks for that link. I've always used ATI All-in-Wonders for TV on my
computer (currently AIW Radeon 9600), but I haven't been able to get their
Multimedia Center to play TV in WinXP x64 or in either x86 or x64 Vista. I
must admit that I haven't tried much in the past year, but I did try again
last night here in Vista x86 6744 and got the all-too-familiar "failed to
initialize" message. If I upgrade my mobo/CPU, I'll have to upgrade the
graphics, too, and I probably will go with separate graphics and TV cards.
I've never had a Hauppauge, but I've heard mostly good things about them.

The Hauppauge site (http://www.hauppauge.com/pages/support/vista.html) now
lists 64-bit Vista drivers for just one model, the WinTV-PVR-150/500.

Black Gold make a Dual DVB-T/Analogue Hybrid card that already has Vista
32-bit drivers.

The digital tuners are more sensitive than the ones used by Hauppauge.
