Ok Im not to happy at the moment... randomly now windows xp mediacenter will
not start up for any apparent reason i think the registry is currupted. I did
that thing in the repair area were u kinda redo the reg that DID work because
it just forze up after the 2nd bar now it goes though that but its just BSOD
no sounds nothing. >: (
THis is the second install of this on a diff hdd the first install is down
here diff hdd

Personaly im not happy w/ windows because I was parnoid about havn no workn
OS's so i bought windows media center and put it on my other hdd and when i
tryed installed Vista it said tthere was an error and currupted 75% of all my
data on all my hdds to me arround a month to fix the non windows part but now
both my OS's are currupt.. so i got a old hdd and put media center on that
cuz i can still access all the datta off it... now that 1 is currupt.

And then on my other comp.... yeah... illl talk about this later when i get
this fixed because its thoughn out the wiredest error i secrously thing
windows kinda imploded on it self there.

But my main concern is The first paragraph.
then the second after i get the first 1 up and .

Oh and in the second the master boot records are gone so it dsnt know it has
a OS on it ether.... lol i think everything else is there becaus it just had
a curruuppted OS registry b4

sounds pretty complicated.

i think that if you get something stabilized on your
pc, you'll be happier. I suggest the following to
bring you up and running. Afterwards, I think
you can handle the rest.

First disconnect everything from your
pc except for keyboard, mouse and video.

Secondly, get inside your pc and
see if you have any special boards installed
like usb, video etc. If so, remove them
temporarily.

Thirdly, while inside your pc check
your harddrive configurations. If
you have a slave drive, then the jumpers
on the back must be set in slave set.
Some people try to connect a slave drive
as the master and creates conflict.

Be sure that the master drive jumpers
are configured as master as well.

Since you have a couple of harddrives
you need to decide which one will
be the main one. Then only connect
that drive for right now to the
ribbon cable. I suggest that you temporarily use
only one harddrive at this time so
that you can get a functinal o.s. running.
Later, you can connect the other equipment.

When you boot, get into your cmos/bios
and make sure that harddrive is being
recognized. Afterwards see
if you can boot normally to the o.s.

If not, then reboot with the cd
and do a repair install. Afterwards see
if you can boot normally to the o.s.

If not, then reboot with the cd
and do a clean install. Afterwards see
if you can boot normally to the o.s.

If not, then you may go back inside
and hook up the other harddrive as
the master. Remember to use
only one hd at this time.

Then start over with the steps near the
beginning that we used for the other hd.

Let us know what are your results...

I made this comp my self, Asus mobo, amd 3700 processor . but uhh funny thing
is that it worked fine b4 i tryed to install windows vista... >: ( but
anyways i had all the hdds set up and they boot config was on the main drive
i set up i think it was delted. but other than that ill try what you say. u
cannot reformat it to i got to much data on this that it wouldnt be too good
so im gona try to repair it. my buddy has the same ver of media center as me
i think im just gona copy his windows folder and overwite mine because we
basicly have the same set up so i dnt see a prob.

the bois sems em all fine and there all set as slave * i hvnt seen any need
to set one to master* i just c
windows media center dsnt have the repair install. :(

oh...
vista has specific hardware requirements
and i hope that you got that vista hardware
testing/compatiability program before you installed.

you may have made a mistake by installing
an experiment on a harddrive that you
could not affort to experiment on.

i would suggest to buy a cheap harddrive and
do a clean install on it with your regular o.s.
i wouldnt waste any more time on those
harddrive because you will ultimately
crash the data on them if you
force them to coorperate.

then use virtual pc by microsoft to install
a secondary o.s. if you still presist in using
an experiement that will ultimately have
an sp1 and sp2 in the future....

once you get something functional
you will have the working o.s. as a tool
to help with the other harddrvies.

hopefully, you can sort out the problem.
