Winows 2000 simple boot disk

I want to create a simple boot disk which just launches
command prompt only without loading windows 2000. Any
ideas how this can be done.

why not just install the repair console?
then it will be a bootup option

you won't even need the bootdisk

That could not be done in Windows 2000, but you could have a command console
installed to make repairs. To install command console you must perform
winnt32 /cmdcons. The command console will be installed ir your hard drive,
with an option in the boot.ini, and it do boot into a restricted command
prompt to make custom repairs

No such animal for Windows 2000. You can do that with a DOS or Win9x
bootdisk.

and take your pick.

Don't think it can be done being as Win2k has to be running to emulate DOS

unless win2k is on a fat32 partition and you use a 'dos' boot floppy

the method above will boot you to the gui

the only command prompt option in NTFS would be the repair console
