I cannot see what you are referring to in smlunatick's post that they were
incorrect about...

As for WinFax being a 'better fax solution than others' - that is what is
known as an opinion.

In my humble opinion - faxes should have died a complete death long ago...
Their slower than other electronic means available, require special
equipment in some cases, etc. Creating PDFs and emailing them is much
faster and can be tracked and responded to/about immediately with trackable
records.

WinFax may be one of the better fax solutions...
Paper and pen was once all the rave. ;-)

WinFAX was discontinued by Symantec so any "official" patches will
never exist. Symantec's web site does not have any Product Info pages
for discontinued software.

Before slamming posts, review the software publisher's web site for
the correct info.

As for a replacement faxing system, I've been using ActiveFAX Server
(www.actifax.com.) This is a system where you can easily set up a fax
server (module) to handle the sending / receiving of any fax. It has
email support and you can also "integrate" the faxing into most custom
programming.

It may semantic but Symantec have not discontinued WinFax. They no
longer sell or support Winfax. WinFax will only be discontinued when
users stop using it. Symantec have not revoked the licences to use
WinFax. When I posted I was well aware of the status of WinFax Pro.

Having said that WinFax Pro will not run in Vista so given a few more
years as Windows XP and earlier versions of Windows cease to be used
then so will WinFax Pro. The problem has been that most alternatives
just do not provide the quality of service that WinFax Pro still
provides. However, many users do not rate Vista and prefer Windows XP so
it may take longer than it might have done had Vista been more
appealing.
