hi, i just installed windows xp on my dell inspiron 3700
and i lost the use of my cd/dvd driver...
the # of the driver is ess maestro 2e pci audio drive..
is windows xp compatible with it? or can i update or
else...

The driver you listed is the audio card driver, not the CD driver. Check
Dell's website to see if they have the proper CD driver.
