Sound not working

Bob

I just upgraded my Dell Inspiron 3800 with an ESS Maestro
3i sound card from Windows 98 SE to XP Home and
everything worked, but my computer froze and when I
rebooted ScanDisk found and fixed many errors, but my
sound stopped working. Device Manager says it's working
properly, but the Sound control panel says "No Audio
Device". When I go into Properties for my card and go to
Audio Devices - ESS PCI Audio (WDM) - Properties oon the
Properties tab, it says "Driver is enabled but has not
been started". Please help (I've reinstalled the driver
sevral times)!

Bob,

Dell's website should have the XP driver you need (or tell you if it doesn't
support it).
