Windows XP

I recently had to install a new hard dive because of a
virus. When I installed the new drive I also installed
Windows XP Professional which replaced Windows ME.
I now find that Windows XP is very slow downloading long
documents from the net and in many cases it is unable to
complete the download.
I have heard this is a problem with XP.
