Recently I installed a graphics program onto my father's
laptop which houses windows XP. Whenever he opens the fax
monitor, to view his fax, it opened in the graphics
program. Due to this, I uninstalled the program and
figured that that would do the trick. On the contrary, he
cannot view his fax at all. How might we go about be able
to view the fax once more without reinstalling word?

Thank you for your time.

It seems like your unnamed graphics program associated itself with fax file
formats. Once you uninstalled the graphics program, these file formats had
no application associated with them, so Windows didn't know what to do when
you asked it to open a fax. The solution is to manually assign those file
formats to another application already installed on your computer, as
described here:

"HOW TO: Change File Associations in Windows XP"
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;307859

or to install software that makes use of those file formats.
