Windows XP won't boot

Using Win XP Pro.
Windows goes through Post, every thing OK.Then screen
freezes. I turn off power, and start up again. Sometimes,
it finishes booting. Sometimes, I have to turn off power
and start again 3 or 4 times to get Win. to finish
booting. Have run SFC, have used Restore, checked Device
Manager, run error check. Any help appreciated.

Have you tried booting up in safe mode??

If the pc works in safe mode it means that theres something conflicting
with the pc when its normal mode.

thats when you use the msconfig software and just boot up normal but
diagnostic mode. Then try it. I've had a simular problem before and
found this helped, as there was some software that I needed to take off
then the pc booted up normally.

If you don't find any software problems that account for your boot
problems, you might want to have someone check your hard drive or
power supply.
