windows xp will not start

Recover your data with a Knoppix disk or a Bart PE. Use the recovery
partition to restore the machine. No recovery partition? Call HP and order a
set of recovery disks.
 
Use a live distro like Knoppix or Ubuntu to boot your system and then find the
recovery partition and use it to fix your machine. Then order a CD from HP
