Windows XP Upgrade

I recently reformatted my hard drive (using the Dell
reinstallation cd) and reloaded Windows XP Home Edition
onto my Dimension 2300. I then upgraded to Windows XP
Pro. Now, when I boot my computer, it asks me to select
either Windows XP Pro or Windows XP Home. I have a
Seagate Barracuda 40 gb hard drive with a single
partition. Why is this happening and how can I get it to
stop? I also posted this on the Dell forum.

If you were going to upgrade to XP Pro, why did you reinstall
XP Home?

Probably because he didn't realize that he could do a clean
installation with an upgrade version.

If so, then it sounds like a case of "when all else fails, read the
instructions."

It is happening because you did the 'upgrade' by booting the Pro CD and
doing a new install into the folder, rather than by running it *from*
the Home system and tabling Install. Provided it *is* in the same
folder, and not taking up space by having two quite separate ones on the
disk, go to Control Panel - System - Advanced, click Settings in
Startup and Error, then click Edit, and uncheck the line referring to
Home, in each of the two sections of the boot.ini file
