Windows XP updates help

I automatically get updates and then install them. Recently had to
reload windows system files and the update feature did its thing and
updated windows. The problem is that one (1) update was installed
already and the update program keeps telling me that a update was unable
to be installed. I need to delete this update since it is already
installed but don't know where to do the deleting. Any help is appreciated.
