If this happen during an upgrade,check your flat cable in your H
You must have 80-wire not 40,if you use udma
good luck

Thanks for the reply!

The article I referenced in my earlier post mentioned the
UDMA errors. I popped open the hood, and verified that
the 80-conductor ribbon cable was in place.

Well, we ended up removing the hard drive and placing it
into another system. Then we performed a defrag. The
drive was in terrible shape.

After a defrag and chkdsk, we put it back into the
original PC, and it boots fine now.
