Recovery Console BSOD

I have a Dell with standard SATA HD (no RAID). I just did a clean install of
XP Pro and installed the Recovery Console.

Computer boots fine into Windows, but when I try to access the RC I get a
BSOD:
Unmountable__Boot_Volume
0x000000ED (Ox8A7D34A0, 0xC000014F, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

Any ideas on how to get RC to work?
