Windows XP Start up problem

Windows XP slowly starts up. I get the green progression
bar and that works normally but when I come to the blue
welcome window, XP slows down.
After 15-20 seconds, I get my backgroundscreen + taskbar
+ the office-taskbar but without any icons on my desktop.
This lasts for several minutes and then I get the windows
welcome sound and the icons on my desktop.

The problem probably occurred after I updated some
software and rebooted my PC.

Anyone a solution?

If you have Norton Antivirus 2003 installed? Uninstall it!
I´ve seen this on several computer with Windows XP and the only thing
Symantec said was that there are not
any known problems with Norton Antivirus 2003. I installed Corporated
Edition instead and Windows XP
suddenly starting up normal?

Good luck!
