Windows XP SP3?

Well, thanks guys for the nice round up! I hope none of you were serious
about your pointed replies... Don't take things to heart, I say. As for me,
am still waiting for the Windows XP SP3 and I don't expect it any sooner...
With M$ having a history of delays and surprises, anything can happen
actually! So be gentlemen and shake hands for mutual good!! What's in
fighting over the said reputation of a 'just another software firm' [despite
our addiction to its products, that is!]?

I read that it would be released early in 2008.

The above URL is a "Release Candidate" - not quite ready for Prime Time.
If you search posts on this subject - most folks want to wait for the RTM
build.
RTM being "Release to Manufacturing" - a build that has been successfully
beta
tested.

Does anyone here know where I can get a list of the software (not critical or
non-critical updates like wmp11, ie7) that I can take a look at?

It will give me a good idea of whether slipstreaming the sp3 into my
original xpcd is a good one!

thanks for the replies.

If not already installed, you may obtain all of these via Windows Update =>

Ensure your default Browser is set to IE.

Windows SP3 is not yet available as a "production" build.
For Beta-testers only on test machines.

Thanks.

So there is no way as of yet what SP3 will contain besides most of latest
hotfixes and critical updates?

I just wanted to know is, by slipstreaming SP3 into the original XPCD to
create XPCD/SP3 cd will include such things like .NET, ie7, wmp11, etc etc?

TBH, I hate wmp11, because of the rumours that it uses a whole lot more DRM
protection and that kinda scares the hell of me as I have loads of media
files that uses no protection and hate for them to get currupted (if wrong,
please correct me).

That would be correct, unless you're a Beta-tester.

I'm not sure about that, sorry.

I don't believe WMP 11 has DRM.
