Windows XP SP2 Installation Problem

I have an older PC that I was running Windows XP SP1 on. I tried
install the Windows XP SP2 upgrade. After going through the installation
process the PC needed to be rebooted.

On the way up, I saw the Windows XP Pro splash screen, it then went
away. Ususally about 5 seconds later, I'd see the Windows GUI start to
load. However, this PC stayed blank... all night. I rebooted, still no
luck... same issue.

I can boot into safe mode, so I did a System Restore to a point before
installing Windows XP SP2. It still does the same thing.

Long story, simple question... is there a way to undo what the SP2
installation did, without reinstalling Windows XP SP1?

While in safe mode, can you change video drivers?

Good question. It would make sense. I'm not sure if I can or not, but I
will try that as soon as I get home.

If nothing else, just set the video to plain VGA or the simplest SVGA driver
you can find (not any particular brand of video card). Then download and
install a new driver for your video card.

IF Nothing works... n U still have the XP Cd with SP 1 ... Try running a
Repair using it. This shud overwrite the SP2 files with SP1. Good luck !
