Windows XP SP1

I recently tried to load service pack one on XP home
edition and got the following error, "Windows XP SP1 is
incompatible with this version of Windows. For more
information, contact Microsoft." My product is
activated, but it still will not load. Does anyone know
what may be wrong. I tried to contact Microsoft, but
after an hour on a toll line, I hung up.

Any one have any ideas?
