windows xp shuts down at log on

i turn my computer on and everything works normally. but
once i log onto windows xp the screen goes blue and an
error message comes up saying "page in unpaged area, if
this problem continues to occur press F8 for advanced
startup options", my problem is that my computer shuts off
about 2 seconds after this message displays, it can hit F8
but my computer doesnt respond and shuts down. CAN ANYONE
HELP ?

Turn on the computer and start tapping the F8 key rapidly just as soon
as the first information of any kind shows on the screen. Keep
tapping until the Windows Startup Menu appears and choose Safe Mode
from the menu.

If it starts okay in Safe Mode then use System Restore (Start - All
Programs - Accessories - System Tools - System Restore) to put the
system back to a date and time that is prior to the onset of this
problem.

Shut down and restart normally after the System Restore has completed.
