Windows Xp Services problem

I was wondering if anyone can help ..... In computer managment, the services
are not starting automatically although they are set to do so. I have also
set them to start again if they fail but this does not work. I'm not sure how
to fix this, i have to manual start each service whenever i log on. I believe
this is also causing errors in other area of the computer managment, such as
RPC server errors. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My guess would be that your Anti-Virus app, (installed before SP2 update was
done) has caused this, and I would try to fix it by removing sp2, and then
the AV, then re-update to sp2, then re-install AV.

I'm sure this seems a lot of work, on a guess, but note that I have
successfully guessed you have AV and SP2.

The update files are probably available to install again from
%SystemDrive%/softwaredistribution/(some GUID)/update/update.exe
