Windows Xp Service Pack 2

After installing service pack 2 my boot time is alot
longer and even if i instruct windows not to alert me it
alerts me that the firewall is off can anyone help if not
can anyone help me uninstall service pack 2? please

SP2 should have created backup files of your system therefore you should be
able to uninstall directly from Control panel>Add/remove. look for windows
xp service pack 2 in the add/remove window.
You should be able to prevent the firewall notification by going to Control
Panel and clicking on the Security center Icon. On the left of the security
center window under resources click 'Change the way security center alert's
me. Uncheck the Firewall option the alert should then disappear.

Have you tried throgh the ADD/REMOVE programs?
Regarding firewall configuration,open control panel>security center
and configure from there.

That happened with me. The culprit was the Sygate firewall.
Uninstalling and reinstalling removed that niggle. Your situation is
different but the steps to work it out are the same. Do some boot
troubleshooting, deselecting the startup programs one at a time using
Msconfig to find out which one is the problem.
