Windows Service pack 2 internet cut off.

Michelle E.

I installed the windows service pack 2 everything went fine then everytime I
went to log into my internet it would just cut off. I'm sure this was due to
the installation of WS Pack 2. I uninstalled the the WS pack 2 and with that
my quicktime unistalled and my Itunes uninstalled. Also, I have norton
security I do not need micrsoft security updates so to me this update is
useless but now I am stuck because in order to upload my pics I need my
quicktime. This is very critcal for me because pics are business for me. If
anyone can help me please do! Thank you!

What does "my internet...would just cut off" mean (e.g., you were
immediately disconnected from the internet; attempting to reach any page
using Internet Explorer produced a "Page cannot be displayed" error)?

After installing SP2 did, did you then install all post-SP2 critical update
and then make sure Automatic Updates was enabled?

Does this behavior persist after uninstalling SP2?

What Norton application is installed (e.g., Norton Internet Security 2004)?
Is your subscription current and can you successfully run LiveUpdate
manually? Was your Norton application running in the background when you
installed SP2? When you uninstalled SP2?
I have norton security I do not need micrsoft security updates

Guess again, sister: If your computer and internet access is
business-critical, the machine should ALWAYS be fully patched at Windows
Update!

I suspect that you only installed SP2 so you could install or update iTunes:
Am I correct?
