I downloaded and installed the Windows XP Service Pack 1
and rebooted my computer--then it would not load back up
100%. It would load all the way up to showing the blue
background Window's XP screen, then it would go black and
do nothing. I ultimately had to boot up into safe mode
and revert to a restore point before I installed this SP1
pack. Why is this?? I cannot get a Microsoft person to
answer this question--I posted about 1 1/2 months ago
with ZERO response. Anyone suggestions?? Says this is
a "Critical Update"--lol--whatever that means. I have
every other updated patch available except this one.
Thanks for your help in advance!!

Is your serial # legitimate? Microsoft may recoginze it
as being an abused or illegitimate serial #... thus not
allowing you do install the Service Pack 1 update. If
you go to the start menu, right click on my computer,
choose properties, and look at the registration # that
has been assigned to your computer when you installed
your software: if your registration # is XXXXX-640-
0000356-23XXX or XXXXX-640-2001765-23XXX, you will not be
able to install the service pack... If for some reason
there is still a mistake, call microsoft to change the
serial # and reactivate windows XP.
