My windows XP Pro went crazy, I wanted to repair it using windows XP
CD, it got worse, NO Sound in my computer now. Startup is really slow
even without NIS and NSW. During the repair I got a message that
"Unable to Access Microsoft Personal Web Server" is that contributing
to the non effective repair operation

Thanks in advance

The MS PWS is not compatible with XP. Home cannot run IIS, and pro Only uses IIS (internet Information Server. Personal Web Server
is for Win9X versions.

You may have a backdoor virus running.

Thanks for the reply mark...
I formatted the hard disk reinstalled Windows XP Pro, setup my Internet
Connection, installed Norton Internet Security 2005... BUT I ran into
another probelms which I assume they are related:
1. My windows Startup is very slow... There is nothing installed except
NIS2005 and my ADSL modem drivers.

2. I can not install Windows XP updates after downloading them, when
the installation initialized it just stops.. nothing happening. And
when I close it or cancel it freezes the taskbar.

Hope you can help
Thanks again

Thanks for the prompt reply,
I followed the instruction on the link you provided, but still nothing
happened. What I did is that I uninstalled Norton Internet Security
2005, and then I was able to install the updates... when I installed it
back again along with Norton SystemWorks 2005 I got back to the same
problem.

Is there any known issues of NIS2005 and NSW2005 with Windows XP pro?

Thanks again
