Windows Xp Repair console i don't understand it :( Some links please :)

I just doa reformat if i get into real trouble. But would like to try
the recovery console. And maybe a repair from the Xp disc ? or is that
the same thing ?

the recovery console is reachable from the cd by pressing R when it
asks. In contrast, a repair off the cd is similar to a reinstallation.

and - in giving instructions for a repair installation - the man says
"Press Enter to start the Windows Setup. do not choose "To repair a
Windows XP installation using the Recovery Console, press R", (you Do
Not want to load Recovery Console). I repeat, do not choose "To repair
a Windows XP installation using the Recovery Console, press R".

Of course, you may want to go to the recovery console. But that article
is for doing a repair reinstall.
Repairs from the recovery console basically consist of the commands
fixmbr, fixboot, bootcfg /rebuild
the recovery console is crap and doesn't let you do much. It lets you
fix the master boot record, (fixmbr, fixboot) and fix boot.ini
(bootcfg /rebuild). But you can't even edit files from there. it's
really shit.

as you amy know. boot disks can't see ntfs (not without 'ntfs pro')
a decent solution is to have a working XP and look at the other HDD
from there. I have an XP on another computer. And 2 XPs on this
computer. XP can see NTFS, hence it's a very useful recovery tool!
