Windows XP has registry security which none of the
previous operations had. This is causing me problems as I
need to be able to install software and also set registry
keys for a group of developrs who log onto different pc's.
Is there any way of disabling the security in the
registry??

Using a local administrator account, change the
permissions on the keys you need to change so that your
account can do so.

While you could remove ACLs on each registry key, or set them to "Everyone:
Full Control", this is one of those things that you probably would be better
off fixing the real problem - that of ACLs being assigned that conflict with
your uses. The fix is to check your use against the ACL, and determine
which is wrong. This may even require you contacting the developers of
software that requires access to certain registry keys, and having them fix
their software to work in a more secured environment.

The alternative, as I said, is to essentially unprotect your operating
system - and that's really not advisable.

Alun.
