Windows XP Professional SP2 hangs in setup

Hi,

I have a problem with the installation of windsows XP Professional with SP2
integrated. The installation starts (format, copy of files), after the first
restart, the system hangs on the startup window.

I tired on serveral different machines and with several cd's !

Is this a problem with the Microsoft software ?

Carey,

I have found the problem. The bios is doing a wrong translation of the cpu
value. The only thing I need to do is a biosupdate. If you upgrade from WinXP
Pro SP1 to SP2 you can use a patch from microsoft to correct the problem :
