Windows XP SP2 Setup Hangs...

hi,

has anybody tried installing Windows XP Service Pack 2 on a system with ASUS
P4P800 motherboard and 1GB of RAM with P4 3.0 Ghz HT(Prescott CPU)
I am facing the problem while installing the SP2 build as the setup hangs at
first GUI screen.
I am using bootable CD, using which i could create partitions, format it but
just after copying file section setup hangs.
I have a doubt that the motherboard is the main problem. if someone has the
solutions kindly guide me on the same.
