windows xp pro theme problem

H

Hekmat

I upgraded windows 2000 pro to XP pro, and after about a
day or so using xp, the desktop theme changed on it's own
some how. It changed to windows classic, and I tried to
change it back to Windows XP Theme. It didnt work.
Everything just went black, and all I could see is some of
the icons, but I couldn't see any of the text. I tried
restoring my settings with system restore and that didn't
work either. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to this.

A couple of things to try.

Visit www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

See line 214, Right column, Windows XP Style Changes to Classic. Download and double click this REG file. Answer yes to the import prompt. REG files can be viewed in Notepad to see the changes that are being made.

If that doesn't resolve your issue, see line 187 of the same site, right column, Restore Luna Theme. Download the ZIP file and extract the contents to your Windows folder. Again, you can open the ZIP to see what's inside.
