Windows XP Pro starts up automatically

I have a problem with Windows XP Professional restarting after about 5
minutes after it is shut down. Sometimes it'll stay shut down but sometimes
it restarts by itself. It have a gigabyte motherboard Intel 3.2MHz CPU,
512MB DDR and connected to Novell 4.2 for Small Business via Cat5 cable and
a D-link 10/100 switch. Any idea why the system does not stay shut down
after a shut down is performed?

could it be something as daft as 'wake on PS2 mouse' settings in the bios
...... possibly wake on lan somewhere if something on your network is trying
to access it ???
