Windows XP Pro SP1 will not install

Ian

Hi,
I've just put together a new PC and I'm trying to install
my copy of Windows XP Pro SP1. I'm booting from CD and it
reads all the hardware devices etc fine as it goes through
the various blue screens. However it keeps reaching the
point where it says "Starting Windows" , while installing
and then reboots. It keeps doing this , looping through
the same process. I've left it for several hours in the
hope it would work. It does not. I've not yet been given
the option of formatting or partioning my Hard Drive etc.
Any suggestions?
Thanks..
Ian

I have what I think is the exact same problem. I just loaded SP 1 and now my
almost new Sony will not start. I can get it to go to the Safe mode but it
just keeps rebooting. I can't afford to lose some of the programs I have. Any
Help would be Appreciated

Thanks
Bob
