Windows XP Pro security updates for WIndows XP Embedded

Is it acceptable to make latest Windows XP Pro security updates for
WIndows XP Embedded on post FBA image before shipment using Microsoft
Windows update site?

Leonid,

Although it works for some of updates (if you included "Windows Update
Client" component in your Configuration), it is not suported by MS and will
fail for other updates.

.... and what's particularly tricky is that at least one patch seems to
install (no errors), but silently fails.
