Hello,
I'm pretty new to Windows Embedded devices and am just looking for
some clarification on a couple of things...
We're planning to replace our Wyse 1200 units with HP Thin clients
running Windows Embedded Standard. We'll be deploying our images using
Altiris Deployment Server. I'm just trying to get the base image ready
before we deploy.
1) What are the recommendations for anti virus? The HP factory image
includes a Symantec firewall, but no AV protection - obviously the
Enhanced Write Filter (EWF) offers protection but what do people tend
to do in their live environtment
2) What are the reccomendations for Windows Updates on Windows
Embedded? We run WSUS for all our desktop & laptop clients, should we
do the same for Windows Embedded. The main problems I can see is the
EWF stopping the updates begin saved to the system disk, the same
would go for any AV updates applied to the OS too.
Any comments/advice woudl be greatley appriciated.
