hi there, I downloaded an update for my video and video
card driver(ati and conexan), after installation and rebot
the winxp did not want to load again, it gets to the blue
screen with the windows logo, I cannot even use the safe
mode, the only thing I'm able to do is to boot in (DOS)
console, with some limited commands, using the (Repair)
option in the cd, the problem is the only directory I have
access is the c:\windows and cannot make much about it
since I do not know how to restore/fix the registry, any
ideas????? please help....

On boot, instead of booting into Safe Mode, press the F8 key and select:
Enable VGA Mode. Then the native Windows XP VGA display driver will be
loaded, and you should be able to boot to your desktop, albeit in 640x480
and 256 colors. Then open Device Manger, expand Display Adapter, right
click your ATI adapter, left click Properties, click the Driver tab, click
the Rollback button to rollback to the Previous driver which did work.

I tried that, did not work, same problem, stays in the
blue screen w/the windows xp logo. I was wondering if
there is a way to UNDO the registry entry that was created
when the installation was made, also, not very sure if it
was the ATI driver or the Conexant driver for the (modem
or sound)?
